Quinoa & Beef Stew for baby (9mth above)

What is Quinoa?

Quinoa, pronounced "keen wah", this little jewel is actualy a seed and not a grain. It has been grown in South America for more than 5,000 years. It is harvested both in and around the Andes Mountains. Did you know that the Incas called Quinoa 'the Mother Grain'?

Quinoa is packed with fiber, calcium, iron and folate to name a few of it's nutrients.

Quinoa (one cup, cooked) Protein - 8.4 g

When can my baby eat Quinoa?

Yana baru introduce Rayyan dengan quinoa. Dah 10mth baru nak kasik makan.. Hehe.. Semalam pergi Jaya Grocer beli organik quinoa ni dari brand Radiant.. Sepaket Rm16.. Agak mahal la, paket kecik je pun. Takpela anak punya pasal. Huhu..

Bahan2 nak masak breakfast bos tecik ni.. Quinoa with mashed pumpkin+banana+yogurt.. Bahan2 seperti di atas..





Ni la rupa quinoa sebelum di masak.. Yana basuh dulu..





Masak macam masak nasik je..

Kaedah:

Pumpkin steam sampai lembut dan lenyekkan bersama pisang.
Campur dengan quinoa yang dah masak tadi
Bila quinoa dah tak panas campurkan dengan yogurt/cheese/susu
Siap!!






Sedapp.. Mama tumpang mamam sekali. Rasa quinoa ni mcm makan telur ikan di sushi je. Ia pecah dalam mulut. Yummy!!


Lunch yana masakkan Rayyan beef stew versi baby mamam dengan quinoa lagi. Mama pun lunch benda yang sama.. Ni pun yana baru intro rayyan dengan daging..

Bawang merah+bawang putih
Ubi kentang
Ubi keledek
Carrot
Baby peas
Daging lembu
Unbleached wheat flour
Italian mixherbs


Kaedah:

Tumis bawang merah dan bawang putih dalam unsalted butter
Masukkan daging lembu yang dah dikisar
Masukkan air dan sayur2
Masak sampai sayur2 empuk
Masukkan tepung untuk memekatkan kuah
Taburkan dengan Italian mixherbs
Siap!!






Sepinggan ni Rayyan mamam habis. Anak mama ni suka mamam daging ye.. Hehe.. Patutla masa pregnant dulu, kalau mama mamam sup ekor aktif je dia menendang dalam perut. Hehe..


Bila asyik masak untuk anak healthy food je, mama papa pun dah terikut sekali. Untuk dinner yana masakkan papa ayam steam lemon with a lot of asparagus & broccoli makan dengan brown rice. Nak makan healthy food la konon.. Tapi papa balik bawa ikan keli goreng yg sangat oily dan sambal belacan. Aiyak papa, macam mana nak makan healthy food macam ni. Huhu..

Probiotik dan Yogurt untuk Rayyan..

What is Probiotics?

Probiotics are products that contain microorganisms -- usually bacteria such as Lactobacillus acidophilus, Bifidobacterium, and Saccharomyces -- that are supposed to have a beneficial effect for people who eat or drink them. They are thought to work by modifying the number of bacteria living in our gastrointestinal tract, thereby increasing the number of beneficial gut bacteria and preventing the growth and overgrowth of harmful bacteria.

Benefits of giving your baby probiotics include:

- Prevention of necrotising enterocolitis (death of intestinal tissue), which is one of the most common gastrointestinal disorders in premature babies.
- Increased immune response in infants infected with the rotavirus, and decrease in the duration of rotavirus associated diarrhea.
- Reduced likelihood that your baby will develop atopic eczema, an allergic skin condition which is more common in infancy and linked to other allergic disorders including asthma.

Babies are born without any bacteria in their intestines, but they quickly become colonized with many beneficial bacteria. Babies born via vaginal delivery tend to have more beneficial bacteria, as do babies that are breastfed. Probiotics are found in breast milk, which is likely why they were recently added to an infant formula.


Probiotik vs Antibiotik






Probiotik mengandungi bakteria baik yang mampu melawan bakteria jahat yang menyebabkan penyakit. Manakala antibiotik adalah anti,pada semua bakteria tidak kira baik atau jahat. Bila makan antibiotik semua bakteria tidak kira yang baik atau jahat akan mati.

Apakah perbezaan Probiotik dan Prebiotik?

Probiotik = Bakteria baik. Contoh: Yogurt
Prebiotik = Makanan pada bakteria baik. Contoh: Tempe

But if your baby has been diagnosed with a milk allergy or intolerance or shows signs of an allergy of any kind – such as eczema – hold off until you’ve checked with your baby's doctor.

For proper development, your child needs the fat calories provided by full-fat dairy products until age 2. Choose pasteurized whole-milk yogurts (not reduced-fat or fat-free) that are either plain or naturally sweetened.

Yana baru introduce Rayyan dengan yogurt (probiotik). Plain yogurt tanpa perasa agak masam. Tapi bila dah campur dengan buah sedap. Nyam2..

Rolled oats with bananacado (banana + avocado), delima and yogurt..





Bahan2: Hanyalah pisang berangan, avocado yang dah masak, buah delima, soaked rolled oats dan yogurt..

Kaedah: Selepas oats direndam semalaman (boleh rujuk artikel rendaman oats), masak oats campur dengan bananacado dan perahan air buah delima. Bila oats dah masak dan sedikit pekat dan dah sejuk boleh campurkan dengan yogurt. Jangan campur masa oats masih panas nanti bakteria baik tu akan mati..

Garlic Bread + Salmon Steam & Cekodok untuk Rayyan..


Assalamualaikum..

Rayyan bangun awal hari ni. Pukul 9 pagi dah siap mandi. Breakfast pun awal la dan mama terlebih rajin nak buat breakfast sedap2 kat Rayyan.. Sedang asyik Rayyan layan BabyTv, mama pun bertungkus lumus di dapur. Breakfast Rayyan hari ni garlic bread mamam dengan cheezy pumpkin sauce. Idea resepi dari Puan Maghfarah.. Nampak sedap je di ~blog saya hot~ terus yana nak cuba buat juga.. Simple dan sedap. Breakfast Rayyan jadi breakfast mama juga pagi ni..hehe..






Cara buat garlic bread senang je iaitu parut garlic campur dengan unsalted butter dan sapu pada roti. Kemudian bakar je atas kuali.. Siap!


Bahan untuk cheezy pumpkin sauce:

Labu manis
Cheedar cheese
Isi ayam
Bawang merah
Bawang putih
Unsalted butter



Kaedah:

Tumis bawang merah dan bawang putih, isi ayam dalam unsalted butter
Masukkan labu, cheese dan air
Masak sampai labu empuk
Bila dah sejuk kisar semua bahan tadi
Siap!






Bila nak mamam, masukkan pumpkin sos dalam roti dan boleh suap pada baby.. Nyam2 sangat sedap!! Tengoklah comot tak saya? Hehe..






Lunch takde idea nak masak apa, yana buatkan Rayyan salmon steam je.. Simple lunch. Huhu..









Sambil bermain sambil tengok BabyTv sambil tunggu bila lunch saya nak siap ni mama? Heee..





Senang je campak semua benda dalam periuk steam. Tomato, celery, baby peas, broccoli, halia, bawang putih dan merah. Tidak lupa ikan salmon yang dah di-fillet.. Ni hari kedua Rayyan mamam tomato.. So far, ok je..





Mamam dengan bubur nasi putih + perang..


Petangnya, mama buatkan papa cucur kodok ke panggil cekodok? Rayyan pun sibuk nak mamam juga.. Tapi papa punya ada garam gula sikit. So, mama buatla 5 ketul cekodok baru untuk si tecik ni tanpa garam gula dan guna unbleached wheat flour dengan pisang berangan..








Senyapla saya dapat mamam cekodok juga. Tak payah nak kacau papa mamam. Hehe.. Kenyang saya hari ni sampai dinner makan sikit je..

Bubur Peas dengan Sup Ayam Tomato.. (10mth above)


Assalamualaikum..

Rayyan dah masuk 10 bulan 14hb yang lepas. Kejapnyeee dah besar hero mama ni.. Rindu pula masa Rayyan tecik2 dulu. Hehe.. Doa mama hari2, Rayyan membesar dengan sihat menjadi anak yang soleh, beriman dan berilmu.. Ameen.. Mama love you so much sayang!!


Masuk 10 bulan ni apa ye yang Rayyan dah boleh buat?

- Rayyan dah makin aktif sangat2. Phewww... Hehe.. Asyik nak memanjat sana sini, asyik nak proses itu ini.. Memang letih mama nak layan, tapi mama happy.. 3 tahun mama relax je kan dengan papa. Sekarang masanya kami pun menjadi aktif.. Hehe..
- Rayyan dah makin kuat sembang sekarang. Ayat baru aneee..aneee.. Amende la tu sayang? Hehe..
- Rayyan masih fully breastfeed.. Alhamdulillah.. Semoga murah susu mama untuk Rayyan sampai Rayyan 2 tahun, insyaAllah. Ameen..
- Bulan lepas Rayyan kurang makan sbb food strikes. Seminggu jugala. Sekarang dah ok malah makin berselera. Alhamdulillah lega mama.






Masuk 10 bulan, yana introduce Rayyan dengan tomato.. Tomato boleh intro pada baby 10 bulan ke atas.

Tomatoes are typically not recommended to be introduced to an infant until somewhere between10 and 12 months of age. The reason for this is not due to possible allergies per se, rather, the acidity of tomatoes may prove harsh for an immature tummy.


The Goodness of Tomatoes for Babies:

Did you know that a medium sized tomato contains approximately 47% of the (U.S.) recommended daily allowance (RDA) of vitamin C, and approximately 22% of the RDA of vitamin A. Due the high levels of Vitamin C, you should try to include tomatoes in the diet to help Iron absorption!

Menu pengenalan Rayyan dengan tomato adalah sup ayam with tomato mamam dengan nasi kacang peas..


Did you know that one cup of peas contains more protein that a tablespoon of peanut butter and also provides Calcium, Vitamin A and C and Iron too.





Bahan2 untuk nasi peas:

Unsalted butter
Kulit kayu manis
Bunga lawang
Bawang merah
Bawang putih
Puree baby peas
Beras putih + Beras perang



Kaedah:

Tumis bawang merah, bawang putih, kulit kayu manis dan bunga lawang dalam unsalted butter sampai wangi.
Masukkan air, beras dan puree peas.
Masak sampai air kering.
Siap!





Bahan untuk sup ayam tomato:

Pure olive oil
Bawang merah
Bawang putih
Labu manis
Puree carrot
Puree tomato
Homemade stock ayam
Isi ayam



Kaedah:

Tumis bawang merah dan bawang putih dalam olive oil
Masukkan air, stock ayam, labu, puree carrot dan puree tomato
Masukkan ayam
Masak sampai labu lembut. Yana picit beberapa labu bagi hancur untuk pekatkan kuah.
Siap!






Sedia untuk Rayyan mamam.. Campuran tomato dan labu menjadikan kuah sup manis, takde masam je.. Dengan tomato ni pun boleh buat spaghetti bolognese versi baby. Next time pula. Kena rujuk Annabel Karmel punya resepi dulu..

Ariani dan Elle Zada..


Assalamualaikum..

Agak lama yana tak masuk ke butik Ariani.. Semuanya sebab berpaling arah kepada Fareeda.. Tapi sekarang kembali pada Ariani sebab susah dah nak dapat size tudung yang menutupi dada untuk tudung Fareeda. Yang ada hanyalah Fareeda Zaynab. Itupun hanya dua colour yang dikeluarkan iaitu hitam dan putih..




Tapi dengan Ariani, ada banyak pilihan tudung yang menutupi dada malahan Ariani juga sudah semakin kreatif mengeluarkan design yang semakin cantik..

Hehe.. Nanti keluarkan lebih banyak design yang cantik2 dan tak singkat supaya saya tak berpaling tadah lagi. Hehe..

Salmon Potato Pumpkin Cake for Baby.. (9 month above)


Assalamualaikum..

Weekend ni seharian di luar.. Jalan2 dengan papa nak cari phone dan makan2.. Papa bawa makan nasi daun pisang di Petaling Jaya.. Nama je orang Penang, tapi baru 1st time makan nasi daun pisang.. Sedap juga.. Untuk Rayyan, yana dah prepare oat with blueberry and apple untuk mamam di luar..





Malamnya makan di Wong Solo.. Rest masak memasak yana hari ni.. Hehe.. Cuma masak kat Rayyan je la..






Sampai rumah lepas lunch, yana buatkan Rayyan dan papa salmon cake.. Cuma buat asing.. untuk Rayyan takde garam, untuk papa dan mama ada sikit garam..


Bila boleh introduce ikan pada baby?

Masa mula2 nak introduce Rayyan ikan salmon, yana was2 juga sebab bimbangkan kandungan merkuri dalam ikan ni.. Tapi salmon adalah ikan yang low in mercury.. Yana pun suka salmon. Nak sashimi!! Sedapnya!!









Santerre's group at Purdue publishes a handy wallet card that tells you where most commercial fish falls on the mercury contamination scale and how much of each it's safe to serve your child.

The card highlights eight fish that are both low in mercury and high in healthy fats:

Anchovy, herring, mackerel (Atlantic, jack, chub), rainbow trout (farm raised), salmon (wild or farm raised), sardines, shad (American), and whitefish.

The low-mercury seafood most commonly eaten by children include shrimp, salmon, pollock, and catfish. (Among these, only salmon is a good source of omega-3s.)





Fish are highest in mercury:

In 2004, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and the EPA released a joint advisory on mercury in fish. In it, they identified four types of fish that young children (and women of childbearing age) should not eat because they contain high levels of mercury: shark, swordfish, king mackerel, and tilefish.


Other experts and advocacy groups would like to expand this list. Purdue toxicologist Santerre recommends that children between the ages of 2 and 6 not be served fresh or frozen tuna, striped bass, bluefish, Chilean sea bass, golden snapper, marlin, orange roughy, amberjack, Crevalle jack, Spanish mackerel from the Gulf of Mexico, and walleye from the Great Lakes. (Purdue does not have recommendations for children younger than age 2.)

Tapi seperti yang Rasulullah saw ajar pada kita, jangan berlebih-lebihan dalam melakukan sesuatu. Oleh itu, dalam pemakanan pun jangan berlebih-lebihan hingga memudaratkan. Ambil secara sederhana dan berpada-pada. Jangan pula salmon tu high in omega, hari2 kena bagi pada baby.. Antara ikan yang yana pernah bagi pada Rayyan selain salmon ialah ikan merah, tenggiri, ikan bilis dan terkini bawal putih..


Ok, membebel banyak pula pasal ikan.. Jom tengok cara buat salmon cake for baby. Tq pada Puan Farah Rahim.. Yana amik resepi dari blog beliau..


Bahan2:

Ikan salmon segar
Labu manis
Keledek
Sawi (Kalau tak intro sawi lagi tak payah masukkan)
Susu (EBM atau Fm)
Tepung gandum
Italian mixherbs



Kaedah:




1. Salmon dicuci bersih dan fillet
2. Puan Farah ajar cara nak hilangkan hanyir salmon dengan rendam di dalam susu. Yana rendam dalam EBM
3. Labu dan keledek disagat halus, sawi dihiris halus (kalau nak ganti dengan daun sup pun boleh)
4. Selepas rendam ikan, boleh dimasak sekejap salmon dalam susu tadi
5. Campurkan semua bahan termasuk salmon dan tepung gandum
6. Taburkan sedikit Italian mixherbs
7. Cuci tangan dan boleh bentukkan adunan tadi (kalau nak golek adunan dalam serbuk roti pun boleh)
8. Goreng dalam pure olive oil


Siap!!









Budak tecik yang excited nak suap sendiri. Tapi still mama lenyetkan sikit dan suapkan.. Gigi ciput lagi sayang nak mamam seketul macam tu. Hehe.. Habis 5 ketul Rayyan mamam sorang. Kenyang sangat sampai dinner mamam bubur sikit je..
